ABOUT CAMEO

Cameo Stewart, Associate ASID Member

American Society of Interior Designers

Ohio North Chapter

My name is Cameo and I love all things creative. I developed a passion for art, design, and interiors at an early age. My design career experience has included roles in corporate marketing and event planning to visual merchandising within the fashion and beauty industry.

I began Cameo Creative, LLC after being laid off from my dream job several years ago. At that time, I was working in visual communication and merchandising for a major international retailer. Upon graduating from Miami University (Oxford) and completing a four-year internship, I accepted that dream job and imagined myself being with the company through retirement. But life had another plan and being laid off set the foundation for a vision that would truly come to life, an entire decade later.

While seeking new employment, I was freelance designing and encouraged by friends and family to start my own graphic design and visual communication business - and I did just that. I began designing and developing marketing for individuals, small businesses and non-profits. Design projects ranged from creating wedding stationery and graduation announcements, to logos, branding and much more. All the while, the dream of growing Cameo Creative into more was within, yet I was striving to find a way to balance entrepreneurship with a full-time career in marketing.

In 2015, I left my position as a Senior Marketing Specialist within the corporate banking world to pursue my true passion for interior design. Upon obtaining my certification, I worked with the HGTV Home Design Studio at Bassett as a design consultant in Dublin, OH (Columbus) and eventually made a move to Cincinnati, where I worked as a designer with luxury home furnishing retailer Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams and later with a local award-winning interior design firm. After experiencing yet another layoff in 2017, I knew that was a sign that I needed to step out on faith and pursue the dreams for my business full-time.

In taking steps to refine my business, I was accepted into MORTAR Cincinnati's Entrepreneurship Academy in the fall of 2018. Upon completion of the 14-week curriculum, I had the opportunity to pitch my business for a chance to win a $2,500 grant from U.S. Bank - and I won. In February 2019, I competed in a city-wide pitch competition sponsored by MORTAR and Hillman Accelerator and walked away with a $5,000 award. Win or not, I was beyond grateful for the opportunity and the connections I have made as a result of taking the steps to grow my business to new heights. I am currently completing a commercial interior design project in Over-The-Rhine with the Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation (3CDC) in partnership with retailer Elm & Iron, working to stage several condominium homes. I was also recently selected by Cincinnati USA Convention and Visitors Bureau to take on the rebranding and social media efforts for VIBE Cincinnati.

Cameo Creative, LLC initially began as a visual communications and desktop publishing business. I was excited to expand beyond graphic design to include interior design services. I had great success in my role as a designer with other retailers and design firms, but it means so much more to offer my clients services through my own business.  My heart and passion for design lie with both aspects of the business and I am excited to help meet all of your design needs, whether it's transforming your home or office through interior design, or creating an image and branding for your business or non-profit through marketing and graphic design.
